Your First Lagree Class in Bangkok: What to Expect
Trying something new is always a little nerve-wracking — especially a workout with a reputation for being intense. Good news: your first Lagree class in Bangkok is genuinely beginner-friendly, and knowing what to expect takes away all the guesswork. Here’s your walkthrough, from booking to the post-class coffee.
1. Book your intro offer
Start with an intro offer rather than a single class. It’s a small-price pack designed for first-timers, so you can experience the method properly across a few sessions instead of judging it on one. You’ll find what’s included on our classes and pricing page. Booking takes a minute, and you’ll get a confirmation with your class time.
2. What to wear and bring
Keep it simple:
- Grippy socks — essential on the Megaformer. If you don’t have a pair, they’re available at the studio.
- Water — you’ll want it.
- Comfortable, fitted activewear — nothing baggy that could catch on the carriage.
That’s it. We provide everything else, including a clean towel.
3. Arrive about 10 minutes early
Give yourself roughly ten minutes before your first class. That’s enough time to check in, meet your coach, and get set up on the Megaformer. Because it’s your first time, your coach will walk you through the machine — the carriage, the springs, the handles — so nothing feels unfamiliar when the class starts. You can see the space and amenities on our studio page.
4. What the class actually feels like
Here’s the honest version. Lagree is slow, and that’s exactly what makes it hard. You’ll move through controlled exercises that keep your muscles under constant tension, holding positions until they start to shake. That shaking is completely normal — it’s the muscle working, not a sign you’re failing.
A few first-timer truths:
- You will not be the only one struggling. Everyone shakes. Even regulars.
- You can modify anything. Every move scales to your level, and your coach will offer easier or harder options throughout.
- 45 minutes goes quickly. Because there’s almost no rest, the time flies — and it’s over before you expect.
You don’t need to be fit or experienced to keep up. You just need to show up and follow your coach.
5. Afterwards
When class ends, your muscles will feel worked in a deep, satisfying way — and because Lagree is low-impact, your joints won’t have taken a beating. Rinse off in the showers, and if you’ve got time, stay for a drink at the café before heading back into your day. It’s a nice way to let the endorphins settle.
